Developing healthier routines and habits in our lives, like taking regular reformer pilates and yoga classes will definitely lead to creating more wellness and balance in your life. But we are all different and may need other avenues as well. We love bringing you new and different things to try out, check below for what’s coming up.

Sound Bath

A relaxing bath isn’t the only kind of bath that can have health benefits.

Waves of soothing, echoing sound from traditional wind and percussion instruments, also known as a “sound bath,” is said to help with stress, fatigue, improve your mood and release tension in your body, among other things.

Sound baths aren’t a replacement for other treatments, but they can be considered a low-risk complement to any other methods you’ve been exploring.

How does a sound bath work?

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are ‘bathed’ in sound waves, the waves/sounds are produced by a range of instruments. You literally lay back and relax as you bathe in the sound.

Sound bath instruments

Instruments that make deep, resonating vibrations are popular instruments used for sound baths. These include:

  • crystal bowls

  • Tibetan singing bowls

  • bells

  • gongs

Next offerings will be 4pm January 14th, February 18th, March 10th, April 7th, May 12th and then 9th June. Book via timetable.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra | Bookings open on our timetable 8 days prior to event.

Yoga Nidra is a meditative practice that brings you into a state of deep relaxation and then allows you to become increasingly aware of your body and inner world. You will likely experience yourself in a level of consciousness somewhere between wakefulness and sleeping. You may also drift in and out of the sleep, but that is normal and perfectly fine. Your deepest level of consciousness will still be actively listening.

There is no right or wrong way to practice and all experiences are 'normal' and welcome. Yoga Nidra is a practice accessible to everyone, from children to seniors. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. If you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated.

What are the benefits?

Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.

Next offering will be February 2024.

Spinal Energetics

Spinal Energetics is a modality developed by Chiropractor & Counsellor Dr Sarah Jane. It is a practice that combines Eastern and Western thought, to interact with a person’s spine, nervous system and energetic field, to harness a person’s own innate wisdom to know and heal themselves. Through light yet powerful touch (and often no touch), an organic flow of movement and sound begins and progresses to shift, unwind, discover and release tension, resistance, and stories that may have been stored in the body. The movements and sounds are natural and primordial, they are a response to the treatment and are driven by an individual's energy, intuition & instinct.

Influenced by various modalities, such as Network Spinal, Kundalini Activation Process, Reiki, Esoteric Acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Trauma Release & Pranayama.

Spinal Energetics practitioner Kimberly Ashton will be available on Sundays prior to Sound Bath sessions, next offerings will be January 14th, February 18th, March 10th, April 7th, May 12th and then 9th June.

PRENATAL & POSTNATAL CLASSES

We offer prenatal reformer pilates & postnatal reformer pilates and we are looking to add prenatal yoga soon.

Prenatal Pilates Sydney

It can be very daunting going into exercise classes when pregnant, especially if you have not been exercising leading up to being pregnant. The nerves of learning something new or doing something that perhaps you haven’t done for awhile and then you also need to learn how to modify everything for your growing baby bump. This is why we created specific prenatal reformer pilates classes. Click here to learn more about our prenatal pilates classes.

Postnatal Pilates Sydney

It can be even more daunting getting back into classes after giving birth, whether 6 weeks postpartum or 12 months postpartum and whether you were fit and active during pregnancy or not and whether your birth was easy or difficult. So many variables can determine how you are feeling now and determine how confident you are physically and mentally post birth. Some women are happy to jump straight into group classes and for those we have Pilates and pram classes (mum & bubs pilates) every Wednesday and Friday on the timetable. For those who are not quite ready to just jump back in we have created specific postnatal reformer pilates classes. Click here to learn more about doing postnatal pilates classes.
